The New Cuedos are in Heys Final
The New Cuedos have reached Final of Heys Trophy 2009 after beating Eccleshill
Victoria Cons 'A'. The New Cuedos were trailing by 209 points in the 2nd away leg.
Ilyas Khan was first on for New Cuedos against M Johnson and won both of his frames
and also had a excellent clearance of 66 in second frame.
The frame scores were 86-36, 91-35. Ilyas recoverd 106 points for the team.
Shafiq Bashir was on second for New Cuedos against P Smith and also won both of his
frames which included a solid 42 break in second frame.
The frame scores were 81-12, 78-26. Shafiq recoverd 121 points for the team.
The New Cuedos recovered 227 points in first four fames which meant Eccleshill Victoria
were now trailing by 18 points and last four frames were left to play.
Sajid Khan was on third for New Cuedos against B Philp and won both of his
frames. The frame scores were 88-24, 97-20. Sajid gained 141 points for the team.
Niaz Ahmad was on fouth for New Cuedos against A Bell and also won both of his
frames. The frame scores were 67-28, 62-13 and gained 88 points for the team.
The New Cuedos comfortably won by 247 points to reach the Final and they will play winner
from Laisterdyke Cricket Club v Laisterdyke WMC 'A' on Thursday 30th April.
Bradford No 1 kept in touch with Sheffield No 1 and Castleford No 1 at the top of Division
One of the Yorkshire Inter District Snooker League with a shaky 4-2 victory against bottom
side Thorne at Lilycroft WMC.
Thorne had lost all their ten matches this season before this fixture and were under
pressure from the start, having to concede the opening two frames as a result of one of
their players pulling out at the last minute.
Sajid Khan was first on for Bradford against Chris Ray and both frames were scrappy.
Ray won the opener on the black before Khan won the next by picking off the colours.
Jason Walton put Bradford 4-1 in front before opponent Shaun Hennessey made two 30-plus
breaks to win the last comfortably.
Bradford No 1 now take on Harrogate on Saturday, again at Lilycroft WMC (7.30) and hope to
keep the pressure on the leaders.
Improving Thorne are back in the city at the weekend when they take on Bradford No 2 at
Manningham Ward Labour Club.
The New Cuedos Snooker Club on Bullroyd Lane in Allerton is hosting a Pro-am tournament on
the weekend of April 4 and 5 with the winner expected to take home a prize fund of £1,000.

The semi-final line-up of the Billiards Moorhouse Shield is now confirmed, with Clayton Rugby ‘B’
taking on Cullingworth Cons, while Great Horton Cons play Queensbury Cons ‘A’.
The first leg is scheduled to be played on Thursday, April 9, with the second leg the following week.
In the quarter-finals, Clayton Rugby ‘B’ defeated Chapel Green Liberals, Cullingworth Cons beat
defending champions Clayton Rugby ‘A’, Great Horton Cons knocked out Undercliffe Cricket Club and
Queensbury Cons ‘A’ were successful against their ‘B’ team.
Queensbury Conservative Club are hosting a new billiards coaching scheme on Saturday mornings open
to anyone of any age.
