Defending champions Bradford No 1 came away with their first Yorkshire Inter-District League win of the season as they triumphed 4-2 at Thorne in a rearranged Division One fixture.
First frame of the night went to the home side as Chris Leake produced an 62 break against Kevin Firth, who returned to the side after a six-year absence.
Firth was brought into the team after a string of good performances in recent pro-am events and quickly brought the side level, clearing with a break of 33.
Top performer on the night was three times Yorkshire Championship Runner-up and former Bradford Champion Sajid Khan, who opened with a 32 break before opponent John Prime hit back with a 31.
Khan kept his nerve and made a frame-winning 40 to give Bradford 2-1 lead.John Prime had the first chance on second frame to level the match but Prime broke down on break of 14 and Sajid Khan hit a excellent break of 66 to put the Bradford 3-1 up which meant Bradford could not loose.
Jason Walton then added the next frame courtesy of a match-clinching 44 break, with Thorne’s Shaun Hennessey pulling one back thanks to a run of 43.
Next up for Bradford No 1 is a home fixture against Barnsley at Thornton Conservative Club on Sunday 18th Feb. at 7.30pm.
